ADD/ADHD Counseling
Inattention, impulsivity, and hyperfocus can all be signs of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD.
There are three primary presentations of ADHD: Predominantly Inattentive, Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive, and Combined.
I personally have Predominantly Inattentive ADHD (formerly known as ADD) and that is what I specialize in.
People with ADHD may:
- Have trouble staying focused or get easily distracted
- Be disorganized in their living spaces
- Overspend
- Have difficulty paying bills on time
- Experience "time blindness," leading to chronic lateness
- Interrupt often, or say the wrong thing at the wrong time
- Procrastinate everyday tasks
These can lead to feelings of frustration or even shame.
